The briefSt George Hospital started as an eight-bed hospital back in 1894, with the first patient admitted for typhoid fever. Today over 120 years after the official opening, the hospital has grown to 627-beds and is one of the busiest health facilities in NSW, with around 3,400 staff. Each year the emergency department treats more than 68,000 sick and injured people. The maternity department welcome around 2,600 babies into the world each year.
The St George Hospital redevelopment project is being delivered by Health Infrastructure in partnership with South Eastern Sydney Local Health District. Webcoda was tasked with developing a website to inform the public of related news and events as well as updates on the progress of development.
